Simple Way of Eating Healthy


Food that are considered to be most healthy according to several different sources and surveys carried out in North America and Western Europe ;

Apples
An Apple a day keeps the doctor away isn't just an old saying. Studies have discovered that apples contain antioxidants that protect our body's cells from damage. Apples also contain pectin, which can lower blood cholesterol and glucose levels.


Brocolli
One medium stalk of boroccoli contains more than 100 percent of your daily vitamin K requirement and nearly 200 percent of the recommended daily dose of vitamin C - two important bone-building nutrients. Broccoli also reduces the risk of heart diseases, some cancers and diabetes.


Oily Fish
Instances of oily fish include sardines, mackerels, anchovies and salmon. Their lean fillets contain Omega-3 fatty acids which provide benefits for the heart and also the nervous system. Oily fish are also full of vitamins A and D.


Blueberries
Scientist have shown that blueberries are loaded with antioxidants, phytonutrients and fibre that may help prevent chronic diseases. Blueberries also help prevent obesity and improve short-term memory.


Leafy Green Vegetables
Studies have indicated that a high intake of dark leafy vegetables like cabbage or spinach may significantly lower a person risk of developing type-2 diabetes. Cabbage is rich in calcium, magnesium and potassium as well as Vitamin E while spinach is rich in antioxidants, especially when uncooked, steamed or lightly boiled.


Almonds
Almonds are packed with nutrients like fibre, iron, magnesium, calcium and vitamin E. Like other nuts, they are a source of plant protein, which allows you to cut down your intake of meat. Almonda are also good for your heart and can help lower blood cholesterol levels.


Oatmeal
Oatmeal is made from rolled or ground oats. Studies have proven that taking one bowl of oatmeal a day wil lower your blood cholesterol levels. Oats is rich in complex carbohydrates, Omega-3 fatty acids, potassium, folate and water-soluble fibre.
